Dear Burton Water customers,
The local and global spread of COVID-19 is affecting everyone and at Burton Water our highest priority remains delivering clean and safe drinking water.
To that end we have:
- limited contact between our operators
- begun training backup employees
- obtained a 2 month reserve of chlorine in addition to our regular re-supplies
We are also nearing completion on 3 new wells in our wellfield, which will improve our capacity in times of high demand.
Burton Water always chlorinates to .6 - .8 ppm of free chlorine before distribution, and chlorine is very effective at killing viruses and bacteria of all types including coronavirus.
During the pandemic we will:
- Not disconnect any customer for non-payment, as long as the customer requests consideration of pandemic hardship.
- Not be adding late charges to bills for non-payment of those customers requesting consideration of pandemic hardship.
- Set up payment plans for deferred payments as needed.
